Study financing
Vocational Training Assistance Act (BAföG)
The BaföG takes disabilities and chronic illnesses into account during the determination of the parents’ incom, i.e. an additional hardship allowance can be applied. For disabled and chronically ill students there is also the possibility of extending the maximum funding period. If due to the occurrence of a disability or chronic illness a change of subject is necessary during the course of study even after the beginning of the fourth semester, the newly started study programm can be sponsored as if it is the first study program. Funding can also be granted after the age limit (30 years) has been exceeded if a disability is the reason for the late start of training. Similarly the repayment of the loan portion considers a disability or chronic illness.
